How we treat our enemies and people who are not for us is very important. We do not have to be friends with everyone but God has given us an assignment to love people. No matter how unlovable they may be; we should show them the God kind of love that would make them be intrigued by our personality and at the end of it, come to know God.
Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:22, that he becomes all things to all men so he can win some. He did not say I become friends with all men, he is saying that he came down to people’s level, he tried to put himself in their shoes, he did not judge them or make them feel like sinners, he showed them love so that they may be drawn to Christ. That should be our goal too.
Let us learn to die to ourselves and be alive in Christ, let us learn to die daily and let the love of God rule our hearts, love will empower us to be kind to our enemies. Such kindness and love is needed in the world today. There is a common saying that “Love is the answer” and it is even more beautiful when the love is undeserved!
Prayer: Lord, I’ve been hurt in the past, but let that not get in the way of my loving people despite what they’ve done, I want to love them, so that see Jesus Christ in me. Put in me the spirit of love today, that will draw many to your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
