KEEP THE FIRE BURNING- Thursday, 22nd September, 2016.

As Christians, our spiritual fire ought to keep burning. Christianity isn’t part time, you should never go on a  break because you cannot afford to give any place to the devil in these times. Leviticus 6:13 makes it clear that the fire shall never go out.

But the big question is; how do I keep my fire burning?

These are ways that were recommended by Bishop David Oyedepo, the apostle over Winners chapel.

  1. He said that the word, is the wood, that is we should keep putting in the wood of the word of God everyday to keep the fire burning. Feeding on the book of psalms for example can be really refreshing. (try Psalm 91)
  2. The fan is Prayer, yes you’re putting in the wood of the word, but what is fanning the fire you have? That is where prayer comes in. Someone said that a prayer-less woman won’t get much out of life and I totally agree. Prayer is so important in sustaining the word you’re feeding on, especially praying in the Holy Ghost Jude 1:20. Ask for grace to stand in the place of prayer.
  3. Lastly, he mentioned Ephesians 5;19- Speaking to yourselves in Psalms, and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.

That is reading and speaking the beautiful Psalms to yourself, singing hymns to the Lord, making melody and tunes in your heart to the lord and also spiritual songs. Singing in the spirit is a blessing!.

Ask God to help you to keep the fire burning. Your fire will not go out in Jesus’ name it will be burning more and more until Jesus comes!

Prayer: Lord, I don’t want my fire to die out, I ask for grace to keep my fire burning and to do what it takes to keep it burning until you return.
