It is so important for us to study, meditate and do God’s word, that is wisdom. Wisdom is the application of knowledge.
God has outlined the formula not just for success but for good success, and who doesn’t want to be successful? Or who doesn’t want good success?.
If you study this verse carefully, you’ll realize that it is heavy. One thing that is striking is the fact that success first comes from the inside, that is, the mind.
In the world we live in today, a lot of people want to work, struggle and make money to give them a particular status or a rich person mentality. But the word of God which is the truth advises us to be grounded in the word and do the word, then have good success. Not success that brings crisis or pain and depression but good success that gives you peace roundabout!
Remember, God’s blessings add no sorrow, wordly success can’t give you that, there are things money cannot do, if someone is diagnosed with HIV, money cannot take it away, it takes the power of God. But when we are successful God’s way, there’ll be no sorrow added( Proverbs 10:22)Yes, there might be challenges but God will see us through because we are doing it is way.
It also shows that good success doesn’t fall on our laps, even worldly success doesn’t. Those that were supposedly born with silver spoons have generations before them who worked hard for the wealth they have. The second part says “for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous”. God wants us to prosper (3 John 2) but we have to meditate on the word, day and night, making it become a part of us to the extent that we naturally become doers of the word and not hearers only, then “good success” and prosperity is sure!
I pray that God will engrace you to be a living testimony of Joshua 1:8. You will have good success in Jesus name.
Prayer: Lord, I want to have good success, I want to do it your way. Give me strength to constantly be in the word, give me the grace to become more and more like you and to become more obedient to Your word. Let my success be one that would bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ powerful name, Amen.
